Bridges

Bridges

If a tooth has been lost, Dr. Rice and Dr. Hall may recommend a bridge. There are several types of bridges, but they all use the neighboring teeth as anchors.

If you're missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Bridges help maintain the shape of your face, and restore chewing function.

Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. Bridges are a fixed restoration that cannot be removed, unlike a partial denture. The restoration can be made from gold alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials and is attached to surrounding teeth for support.
